Welcome to Berwick-upon-Tweed
Berwick-upon-Tweed Town Council was founded in 2008 and meets regularly to discuss local issues affecting residents of the area of the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed including Tweedmouth and Spittal. We are based at Unit 1, The Chandlery which is on the Quayside and have sixteen local council members plus two staff. The Council's Staff are available at the Berwick-upon-Tweed Town Council Office on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10.30a.m. to 12.30p.m. and we'll try to answer all of your queries. Residents of Berwick-upon-Tweed are encouraged to attend Town Council meetings to discuss local issues, or alternatively you can get in touch via email admin@berwick-tc.gov.uk or by telephone 01289 302391. |
Berwick-upon-Tweed, in the county of Northumberland, is the northernmost town in England, on the east coast at the mouth of the River Tweed. It is situated 2.5 miles (4 km) south of the Scottish border and is roughly halfway between Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Edinburgh. It is situated on the Main East Coast Railway Line and is also adjacent to the A1.
