Released on 17 May 2017

Berwick in Bloom and Berwick Town Council are working together and would like to invite you/your business to take part in a competition for the ‘Best Outside Floral Display'.
After the wonderful range of entries and displays in 2016 to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday we are looking forward to build on those achievements.

Berwick Town Council and Berwick in Bloom are inviting all businesses in the town to enter the ‘Make Berwick Beautiful' competition. Entry to the competition is FREE with the winners from each category awarded a framed certificate. The overall winner will be presented with the Berwick Floral Cup which will have the business/name engraved upon it and will be held for a year.

We are inviting participants to enter one of our five categories; just pick the most appropriate for your business:

1. Accommodation Providers, 2. Licensed Premises Only, 3. Shops, 4. Cafes/Restaurants, 5. Care Homes.

Entries can be from either individual or adjoining properties and will include one or more of the following: hanging baskets, tubs, containers or window boxes. Marks will be awarded for living flowers that have an impact and are well maintained.

If you're not sure which category to enter, just give us a call 01289 308005, you can also ring the Town Council on 01289 302391 or email for an entry form / enquiries, or download from the Berwick Town Council website and post /email all completed forms to the Town Council Office, Berwick Workspace, Boarding School Yard, 90 Marygate, Berwick-upon-Tweed, TD15 1BN. The closing date for applications is May 30th, 2017.

Displays will be judged at the beginning of July 2017 by the Mayor of Berwick upon Tweed or his/her representative and a member of the Berwick in Bloom group.
The best overall winner from the five categories will be judged by an independent expert. Results will be posted or emailed to all entrants and published on the Town Council website.

Details of our celebration Presentation Evening will be published later in the year, but if you want to come and celebrate success with us, remember - you have to be in it to win it.
We would be delighted if you would take part and help to make our town look beautiful.
