At a ceremony at the Guild Hall today, Tuesday 15 January 2013 at 11.30am, one applicant was admitted as a Freeman of Berwick-upon-Tweed. After the ceremony the applicant was photographed in the Town Hall.

The winner of the Town Council's festive window display competition has been announced as Needleworks, in Hide Hill.
The twenty one entrants were judged by the Mayoress and Sheriff's Lady, and Needleworks was awarded first prize for a ‘very festive and wonderfully
