2nd April 2020
Berwick upon Tweed Town Council continue to provide the same services as we do now. To reduce the stain on the telephone system we would request that you email us on email@example.com
Staff are predominantly working from their homes and have access to emails and software wherever they are via secure devices. Similarly, councillors can access their emails and council documents from home and we’ll be bringing forward planned enhancements to that provision.
If you have any questions regarding Rent, Council Tax, Parking, Roads or Bin Collections please visit https://www.northumberland.gov.uk/
Help with shopping
Where vulnerable people can pay for their supplies, there is a local system in place to obtain and deliver shopping. To use this system, you call one of two numbers [below], provide a list of items. These are bought and paid for by NCC and delivered, with NCC subsequently sending out a bill. This service will also collect prescriptions. The contact numbers are:
for people living north of the river 07827 294 221 [co-ordinator Ann Forbes]
for people living south of the river 07753 749 755 [co-ordinator Georgina Hill]
If you need support from the Berwick Food Bank you can call 01289 303366 - Monday-Wednesday 9.15 to 4.15; Thursday/Friday 9.15 1.15
Help for Business
Full details of eligibility and how to register for Government grants can be found on Northumberland County Council’s online Business Hub.
Please complete the online form there if you think you may be eligible. If you are having difficulty completing the form please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Government guidelines on social distancing
We will keep you updated on the guidelines, but please remember that social distancing will save lives. Reducing the rate of spread of the virus means more people who do get the virus will get effective health care as the NHS copes better with a reduced number of infections.
Social distancing is your way of contributing to saving lives; please help us all by working with your friends and family to make sure they understand that this is essential, and that the rules also apply to them.
STAY SAFE! Berwick-upon-Tweed Council
